Zelensky aligns visit of Witkoff and Kushner to Kyiv and points to September as a decisive milestone for peace negotiations
Diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict in Eastern Europe gained new momentum following recent developments in talks between the Ukrainian government and United States special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. In a recent telephone call, the teams aligned ongoing coordination and focused on setting dates for the American envoys' upcoming joint trip to Kyiv, viewed as a fundamental practical step following their previous visits to Moscow.
During the dialogue, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented a detailed overview of the front lines, noting that recent Russian advances have been limited and achieved at an extremely high cost in human and material losses. However, the Ukrainian leader issued a warning backed by intelligence reports: Russian leader Vladimir Putin allegedly still harbors a personal desire to perpetuate the conflict.
Facing this cautious scenario, Zelensky publicly signaled that the month of September brings high expectations for significant changes and definitive directions in the mediation efforts led by Washington.
