PRIME MINISTER'S OFFICE REAFFIRMS SECURITY PRIORITY, CONDITIONING CEASEFIRE ON DISARMAMENT OF ARMED GROUPS

In an official deliberation on Sunday morning (August 9, 2026), Israel's Executive branch confirms that preserving territorial sovereignty and protecting its citizens guide the conduct of peace negotiations.

The Government of Israel, through a statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the opening of the weekly Cabinet meeting, reiterated the fundamental defense and foreign policy directives of the country regarding international proposals for regional pacification.

During the session, the head of Government emphasized the official stance regarding indispensable requirements for advancing diplomatic talks and transitioning to permanent stabilization phases:

"The absolute priority of the State of Israel remains ensuring the safety of our population. No troop demobilization or reorganization measures on the ground will be executed without the effective, verified, and complete surrender of all weaponry held by armed organizations threatening our borders."

Established Strategic Directives:

Unwavering Territorial Defense: The Executive branch reinforced that diplomatic proposals compromising the response capabilities of the Defense Forces or surveillance along border zones will not be accepted.

Cooperation with Allies: Israel maintains open channels of dialogue with the United States and partner mediators, stressing that lasting agreements depend on alignment with security parameters set by Tel Aviv.

Readiness of Security Forces: Operational forces remain instructed to maintain a defensive posture and act preventively against any attempted violations of active agreements or imminent threats.
