ISRAELI CABINET OFFICIALLY REJECTS U.S. 15-POINT GAZA PLAN, CONDITIONING CEASEFIRE ON HAMAS DISARMAMENT

In a ministerial statement this Sunday (August 9, 2026), the Government of Israel confirms that no operational troop withdrawal will take place without the verified surrender of all weaponry held by the armed group.

The Government of Israel, through an official statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the opening of this morning's weekly Cabinet meeting, formalized its rejection of the 15-point proposal drafted by the U.S. administration's "Board of Peace" for the second phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The head of Executive branch detailed the country's unyielding stance regarding the security guarantees required to advance any peace process in the Palestinian enclave:

"I would like to be precise: Israel rejects the 15-point document. The Israel Defense Forces will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is truly disarmed — which encompasses heavy weaponry, light weaponry, and all types of arms. We are talking about genuine disarmament, not a fictional one."

 

Current Status of Operations and Established Directives:

Impasse in Negotiations: With Hamas demanding that arms surrender be conditioned on a complete prior evacuation by the Israeli army, diplomatic talks remain in a strategic stalemate. Israel maintains its stance of rejecting any merely symbolic disarmament.

Maintenance of the Yellow Line: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) remain deployed and operational along the so-called Yellow Line and within Gaza's security perimeter, ensuring defensive threat containment.

Infrastructure and Logistics Projects: The Cabinet reinforced that ongoing initiatives in the southern region of the enclave, such as water and sanitation infrastructure projects in cooperation with international partners, remain under direct IDF security supervision to prevent resource diversion by armed groups.

Preventive Operations: Ground forces retain General Staff authorization to conduct targeted incursions aimed at neutralizing imminent risks to troops and the border.
