In a ministerial address this Sunday (August 9, 2026), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterates the country's unconditional stance on the Iranian nuclear program and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Government of Israel, through an official statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during this morning's weekly Cabinet meeting, categorically reaffirmed its existential containment policy regarding the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Amid ongoing monitoring of indirect negotiations conducted by international diplomacy and rising instability along strategic maritime routes in the Strait of Hormuz, the Israeli head of executive branch emphasized that the nation's security and sovereignty will not depend on third-party agreements:

"I would like to make our position clear and unequivocal: Israel will not allow Iran to develop or acquire nuclear weapons — with or without an agreement. This is an existential red line for our nation and a permanent commitment to the safety of all our citizens."
