In a address and ministerial deliberation this Sunday (August 9, 2026), the Government of Israel consolidates its strategic stance across the three primary axes of regional tension in the Middle East.

The Government of Israel, through an official Cabinet deliberation led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has presented its consolidated strategic and diplomatic posture regarding regional security developments. The position addresses the management of negotiations in Gaza, the stance on the Iranian nuclear program, and the maintenance of stability along the northern border.

1. Formal Rejection of the 15-Point Gaza Plan

The Israeli cabinet officially formalized its rejection of the 15-point proposal submitted by the U.S. administration's "Board of Peace" for the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The Executive reiterated that there will be no withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from operational areas until an effective, full, and verified disarmament process of Hamas structures is completed — encompassing both light and heavy weaponry. In light of the impasse created by the group's demand to disarm only after a complete troop evacuation, Israel is maintaining its defensive positions along designated lines.

2. Strategic Impasse with Iran and Nuclear Security

Regarding broader regional security, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed the country's existential containment doctrine, stating that Israel will not allow Iran to acquire military nuclear capabilities "with or without an agreement."

This position comes amid rising tensions along maritime routes in the Strait of Hormuz and skepticism regarding parallel negotiations conducted by international actors with Tehran, highlighting that Israel's self-defense capability remains unconditional.

3. Preventive Operations on the Northern Border and Lebanon Ceasefire

Along the Lebanese border, the Government of Israel reported that, despite active ceasefire agreements, the IDF continues to execute targeted neutralization strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in response to recorded violations of the pact.

While diplomatic delegations participate in mediated talks in Rome to reinforce stabilization along the border zone and compliance with security resolutions, Israel's Northern Command remains authorized to take preventive action to contain imminent threats.
