MYKHAILO FEDOROV REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO DEFENSE REFORM AND CLARIFIES POSITION ON MINISTRY MANAGEMENT

In response to recent deliberations regarding public administration restructuring and the creation of new government bodies, former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov issued an official statement today to clarify his institutional future to the public, the Armed Forces, and international partners.

Fedorov expressed gratitude to President Volodymyr Zelensky for the options presented in recent weeks—including the coordination of alternative portfolios focused on military innovation—but reiterated that he will not accept secondary roles or advisory positions outside the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.

"I am grateful to the President for all the options offered. However, under current circumstances, there are only three positions in the nation that, in direct synergy with troops on the battlefield, truly shape the course of the war: the Presidency, the Ministry of Defense, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces," Fedorov stated. "To ensure the swift execution of reforms, combat bureaucracy in military procurement, and sustain the large-scale drone and technology ecosystem, ministerial authority is indispensable. For this reason, I will not accept any position in the administration other than leading the Ministry of Defense."

The statement comes amid widespread mobilization among citizens and frontline personnel advocating for the continuation of the technological modernization and digital governance model established by Fedorov.

While the Ministry of Defense remains under interim management as the Presidential Office considers the final composition of the government, Fedorov reaffirmed his unwavering support for national sovereignty, the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the country's military technology (MilTech) ecosystem.
