Ukraine proposes temporary truce during US envoys' diplomatic mission

Amid diplomatic moves driven by the US administration, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed a temporary ceasefire with Russia. The measure seeks to establish a period of silence along the front line and a halt to air strikes during the official visit of US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kyiv.

The initiative aims to ensure safety conditions for the delegation's logistics and open a window for dialogue between the parties. However, the feasibility of the ceasefire remains uncertain given the skepticism expressed by Moscow and preliminary reports of combat line violations within the very first hours scheduled for the truce.
