Pentagon Declassifies New Secret UFO Files: Reports Reveal Fighter Jet Chases and Phenomena During Apollo Missions

Batches of documents and videos released by the U.S. Department of Defense detail historic sightings and anomalous physical behaviors recorded by military personnel.

The United States Department of Defense (Pentagon) has begun the release of a historic series of classified files and visual records containing official investigations into Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs — the official term replacing UFO/OVNI nomenclature). The disclosure of this data complies with a federal government directive for public transparency.

The documents reveal intriguing incidents collected by intelligence agencies and the armed forces over recent decades. Among the highlights are detailed accounts from fighter pilots who witnessed "orbs" pairing with their aircraft in pursuit maneuvers, even forming geometric configurations in the sky before disappearing. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) sensors also recorded objects that appeared to modify their physical structure and split apart mid-flight.

"The opening of these files fulfills the government's commitment to public transparency, allowing society and the scientific community access to telemetry data and accounts that, until now, were restricted to national security circles," the official release stated.

 

In addition to contemporary occurrences, the collection revives highly relevant historical data, such as investigations from 1948 and 1949 into mysterious "green fireballs" that crossed American skies without emitting sound or smoke. The files also feature NASA records linked to the Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 lunar missions, including photographs showing unexplained luminous spots on the lunar horizon and historic testimonies from space-era astronauts.

The material further details accounts from federal agents who witnessed phenomena on the ground, as well as reports regarding silent objects—in rectangular or spherical shapes—maneuvering at high speeds near strategic U.S. nuclear installations.

Despite the impact of these revelations, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) and the Pentagon emphasize that the release is strictly for informational purposes and does not constitute evidence or confirmation of extraterrestrial life. Authorities reinforce that while many historical cases were eventually resolved as weather balloons or tests of sovereign military technologies, a significant portion of the new visual records and radar data remains classified as inconclusive.

New batches of documents and digital media are currently undergoing review and are scheduled to be made publicly available on an ongoing basis through the Department of  Defense's official channels.
