Iran's Foreign Minister States Islamabad MoU with the US is in Final Stages and Urges Media Caution

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, officially declared this Friday (June 12, 2026) that negotiations for the highly anticipated Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Islamic Republic and the United States have reached their most advanced stage to date. Speaking on the matter, the chief of Iranian diplomacy emphasized optimism regarding the behind-the-scenes progress, stating that the agreement "has never been closer" to being finalized.

The announcement signals a significant shift in internationally mediated diplomatic efforts to establish a stable channel of understanding between Tehran and Washington. However, given the highly sensitive nature of the final talks, the minister issued a direct appeal to global media outlets to avoid spreading rumors.

"While awaiting the finalization of the Memorandum of Understanding, the media must abstain from entering into speculations about its content", Araghchi warned.

"In line with our responsible and transparent approach, all details will be shared with the public in due time", the minister stated.
