During Ukraine's Independence Day celebrations, the country received significant new boosts for its military and economic resilience. The European Union formalized the release of a military assistance package valued at approximately 36 billion Reais, primarily aimed at strengthening air defense systems, radars, and strategic ammunition supplies.

This international support was reinforced by the presence of British Prime Minister Andy Burnham in Kyiv, marking an agenda of cooperation that includes advanced technological support, the provision of interceptor missiles, and backing for joint weapons production on Ukrainian soil. These Western initiatives drew sharp criticism from Moscow, which accused allies of "adding fuel to the fire" and undermining diplomatic negotiation pathways.

Alongside these defense announcements, President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the possibility of holding elections in the country while fighting persists. The leader pointed out that the war scenario and logistical vulnerabilities make the safe participation of millions of citizens, refugees, and military personnel unfeasible, classifying a vote at this time as a source of severe internal destabilization.
