President Trump Announces Preliminary Agreement with Iran for Nuclear Disarmament and Unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz

In an official statement, President Donald J. Trump announced the terms of a strategic agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran, establishing a definitive end to the country's nuclear weapons program and the immediate reopening of commercial shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz.

The document outlines the following fundamental points:

Permanent Nuclear Disarmament: Iran has formally agreed to a total and perpetual ban on the development or possession of any type of nuclear weapon or bomb.

Cleanup Operation and "Nuclear Dust": In an unprecedented coordinated effort involving the United States, China, the Iranian government, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the excavation and destruction of enriched material (referred to as "Nuclear Dust") will be carried out. The material is currently buried deep underground beneath collapsed mountains resulting from U.S. B2 bomber strikes 11 months ago.

Opening of the Strait of Hormuz: The naval blockade imposed by U.S. forces will be officially lifted. The Strait of Hormuz will reopen immediately for unrestricted international shipping traffic in both directions, free of tolls or fees.

Removal of Sea Mines: Underwater minesweeping operations led by the U.S. have already destroyed most of the mines in the region. The Iranian government has committed to completing the immediate removal and/or detonation of any remaining devices.

"The enriched material (...) will be unearthed by the United States, in close coordination and conjunction with the Islamic Republic of Iran, plus the International Atomic Energy Agency, and DESTROYED," the President stated. He further emphasized that the negotiations were finalized with no financial exchange until further notice.

President Trump indicated that he would immediately convene in the White House Situation Room with national security officials to make a final determination and sign off on the terms.
