Iranian President says Tehran will reciprocate immediately if the US fulfills June agreement

During his arrival for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran is ready to take immediate reciprocal steps as soon as the United States returns to the full compliance of commitments established under the June memorandum of understanding.

The statement comes amid a new wave of tension in the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz. According to Pezeshkian, the continuation of conflict and war does not serve the interests of either Tehran or regional stability, reinforcing that the path to resolving issues lies through diplomatic cooperation and mutual respect for established agreements.

The state news agency ISNA highlighted that Tehran's stance remains conditioned on the resumption of American obligations outlined in the prior diplomatic pact.
